Strategic assistance to SME’s
What is an SME – an introduction
In our eyes, a Small to Medium sized Enterprise (SME) is a business from 1 to 50 employees and with sales from $200,000 pa to $10,000,000 pa.
Most enterprises of this size will have accountants, tax agents, lawyers etc servicing their various needs.
Most of these businesses will have an idea of where they are going to and what they are trying to achieve for the various stakeholders in the business – owners, managers etc.
Many will even have a business plan. These plans can vary from one page written up by the owner to elaborate plans which have cost a great deal of money. Many of these plans are written by people who are not in the business – they do a fine job, charge a fee and often then leave it up to the business owners to get in and institute the plan.
The problem is that many enterprises have these plans but they do not have the time, energy or sometimes the will to carry out the aims of the plans. Consequently they sit on a shelf gathering dust.
