John Griffiths - a Background

I live in Brisbane in Queensland, one of the growth states of Australia. I attended school in Toowoomba, Queensland and Sydney, New South Wales and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm) from the University of Queensland in Brisbane. I am also a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and registered Tax Agent.

I have lived most of my life in Australia but have traveled extensively (UK, Europe, Japan, USA, NZ) and have lived in NZ and UK. I have traveled to South Africa, Zimbabwe SE Asia in 2004 and was in South Africa again in September 2008.

My professional career commenced with Arthur Andersen & Co (the US accounting and business services firm) and I worked for and with them in Australia, UK and New Zealand. I was a partner in an accounting and business services firm in Toowoomba and Brisbane for many years. During my career I have been involved in Directorships of a number of companies (in manufacturing) and also in the semi Government arena. I have also been involved in the migration and business migration area for about the last 10 years. I am not a Migration Agent but work closely with them.

I now operate on my own as a Chartered Accountant with a small number of clients at any one time focusing on assistance for intending business migrants into Australia and also business advice to SME’s at a strategic level.

I have working with me a small number of very qualified people who can broaden my service base when required – a Migration Agent, a Migration lawyer, an Investment Banker, a Chartered Accountant and Business Broker and a in accounting. We also have access to a highly qualified advisors in Performance Measurement and Cash Flow and Profitability analysis.
